My Jilbaab!!!

JILBAAB AND CATALOGUE

One of my greatest fear for Muslim sisters has finally been confirmed.

I heard from a Shaykh that there’s now a _catalogue_ for jilbaab while we were discussing Tawhīd. SubuhaanaLlah… So, it has really gotten to that stage where there’s no piety or Taqwa anymore. What has catalogue got to do with jilbaab… لا حول ولا قوة الا با الله.

No one prays to work from morning till night without getting paid for it… Now imagine a sister who wears jilbaab for her entire life and there’s no single reward for her based on EVERY ACTION IS JUDGED BY INTENTION. SubuhaanaLlah… This is so terrible amongst Muslim sisters these days. Know—may Allah ease your affairs that, most of these styles were designed by the KUFFAR (disbelievers) and given to Muslim women. Some would go online to search for styles… WabilLaahi-Tawfeeq… Jilbaab that should be worn to conceal the beauty and shape has now become oppression amongst Muslim sisters. Some even claimed since it does not display their curves and shapes, they are safely forgotten that if a brother should see a new style on them and start wondering and looking at how it’s being sewn, they(brothers) may later look at what they are not supposed to which contradicted the following verses:

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands…”

This simply means it is not permissible for a lady to display her beauty publicly and part of displaying the beauty is by modernising the jilbaab.

Know—may Allah guide you that whatever is done for the sake of Allah shall be rewarded by Him alone and whatever is done for the sake of other things is rewardless. Most of it is just to feel among, dress to match and show to other sisters that they are in vogue… En-vogue with jilbaab??? This is something that should be worn to draw away evil eyes and not draw them closer. We could say some of the problems some sisters are facing or have faced is as a result of giving the jilbaab design. Why are some sisters turning Hijaab to fashion? One of the causes of this terrible fitnah is SOCIAL MEDIA! Imagine a sister being on more than 5 social platforms. SubuhaanaLlah…

A munaqqabah (someone who uses niqab) on TikTok! What exactly is she doing there?

Comment from a very good mother, she said and I quote:

I can say Western education contributed greatly in the life of our today’s sisters on their mode of dressing which contradicts how Allah State it in His book

“ولا تبرجن تبرج الجاهلية الأولى”
قال تعالى: (ولا يضربن بأرجلهن ليعلم ما يخفين من زينتهن)
Another thing is that many of them don’t know the reason why they should use the hijab. They have turned it to fashion which is not the reason it was revealed. If only those using fitnah apps (Tiktok and the likes) know the meaning of these verses haqeeqotan, they wouldn’t use it. If they know that they will account for their mode of dressing in the hereafter, they will stay away from showing off their adornment.

For us to overcome this, we have to go back to the foundation, how our pious predecessors did it successfully. These sisters also need enlightenment on their mode of dressing.

Lastly, teaching our children the Islamic mode of dressing is very important right from a very young age.

Yes, we may say, parents, peer groups, fashionists (who most of them are kuffaar) and western animalism are the causes but one of the social platforms that are really misleading the jilbaab sisters of today is TIKTOK! To worsen it, a sister on Facebook blocks anyone who tries to correct. How many examples do we want to give? Lastly, if the women are good, the nation would be better Bi RohmotiLlah.

May Allah grant us a better understanding of His Deen and accept it as an act of ibaadah from us. We ask Him to ease the affairs of our Muslim sisters, grant them hidaayah and Istiqaamah, make them a better version of themselves and increase them in Tawhīd and remove from their hearts any form of show off or disobedience and we beseech you Oh Allah to reward them abundantly here in this world and in the hereafter.

أقول قولي هذا استغفر الله لي ولكم، ان الله غفر رحيم.

Allahu’l musta’ān, Tabarruj now has levels, seeing variety of displays worn by sisters yesterday really saddens my heart, the garment of piety has now been turned to garment for modelling and showoffs, The garment meant to conceal our beauty is now used for flaunting, The garment is not prescribed to draw attention to your beauty but to divert attention away from it! It is meant to prevent fitnah. Imagine a sister wearing a colorful turban that is meant for men on top of full jilbab, for what? For slaying!? Remember that every act is rewarded based on its intention, May Allah grant us ikhlaas and protect us from swaying into the deceitful enjoyment of this world, I ask Allah to safeguard our Eeman and make us better muslimah.

  1. May Allah save our generation from KA RI MI, everyone wants to be CURRENT Hijab Sisters , Fashionista Hijabite. May Allah grant us firmness upon his religion and rectify the affairs of this Ummah(Amin).

Jazakumullah khairah…May Allah guide we sisters to the right path and not to the worldly part.

There is something called desire. I can say it’s what’s really deceiving us, sisters. I read the whole and asked myself, where is it really wrong? Hey look, I’m inclusive here. My heart eventually replied me. It’s desire to want to get along, being tag *civilized*.
But, dear writer, a question to get the content really right. What is the style of jilbab do you think it’s right for a Muslimah to wear? We have varieties of them. Which one specifically is good to be chosen and stick to it?

JazakumLlahu khayr sir/ma in anticipation for your reply.

    Assalam aleykum waramotuLlah wabarakatuh!
